Hi — we’re Christopher (originally from San Francisco) and Susan (from Germany). We met back in 2013 while hiking in the Himalayas in Nepal. What started as a shared love for adventure turned into a life built around travel, nature, and meaningful places.
That journey eventually brought us to Croatia — and we fell in love with Opatija.
In 2023, we opened Villa Dragi, creating the kind of place we personally love to stay in:
peaceful, comfortable, scenic, and welcoming.
Our villa offers six thoughtfully designed holiday apartments in Opatija, set on the hillside of the Učka Mountains with sweeping views over beautiful Kvarner Bay. Up here, you wake up to Adriatic light, fresh sea air, and a quiet that feels rare and restorative. It’s the perfect setting for a relaxing vacation in Croatia — whether you’re here to explore or simply to slow down.
You can spend your days swimming in the crystal-clear Adriatic Sea, hiking in Učka Nature Park, strolling through historic Opatija, or taking scenic drives along the Croatian coast. And when you come back,
Villa Dragi is your peaceful home base — away from the crowds, yet close to everything.
Lounge by the pool. Soak in the whirlpool. Unwind in the sauna.
Or just sit on your balcony and take in the view over Kvarner Bay.
We live in the house as well, so if you need anything — recommendations, help, or just a friendly chat — we’re here. We truly enjoy hosting and want you to feel completely at home in our accommodation in Opatija.

At Villa Dragi, we offer six thoughtfully designed apartments — giving you the flexibility to choose what fits your travel style, group size, and budget best.
Whether you’re looking for a cozy studio (26 m² / 280 sq ft, perfect for 1–2 guests) or a spacious family apartment (84 m² / 900 sq ft, for up to 6 guests), you’ll find the right space to feel comfortable and at ease during your stay in Opatija.
Each apartment is fully equipped and designed with comfort and simplicity in mind. Some guests stay for a quick coastal getaway. Others come for a longer Adriatic escape. Either way, Villa Dragi gives you a peaceful home base with beautiful views over Kvarner Bay and easy access to everything this part of Croatia has to offer.
